I can't install it on my 5 series cameras (5442) I get an error message!

No. But sometimes they improve the artificial intelligence algorithms and that improves the detections, on this camera sometimes the vehicles generate alarms when I only want the humans.

Actually, it is pretty clear. The very first line of parameters state what is listed below only applies to the S3 series (latest model new chipset) cameras. I would guess Dahua got many complaints about posting firmware originally, that didn't apply to the older versions of 5442 cameras. Just a guess.

Sadly we are going to see a lot of threads like this here and elsewhere since they decided to keep the same model series name. Very few people are going to see or know if they bought the S3 version.

That's why I find that Dahua is not very clear,

I had not seen the line specifying that it was the S3 model and I install 1000 Dahua cameras per year so I am a little used to their site!
