Hi Michael,I was sent a brand-new firmware from the supplier (DH_NVR4x-4KS2L_MultiLang_V4.001.0000000.0.R.201230.bin) and this allowed the upgrade to go ahead successfully, so who knows what the problem was as there was no explanation other than Dahua assured him that this would work.
