How can the HDDs be configured in the Dahua NVR5xxx-4KS2 NVRs? Are there different raid choices? Can I grow the volume by adding discs, or does it need to be nuked when adding capacity?

Hi Chapin,

I've read not to worry about RAID, that may actually impact performance.

You can just add an additional HDD when needed to 2 HDDs and the system will record as needed over them.

Thanks. I think I will actually get the 4HDD model, so I presume this will be true to 4HDD.

I think you are right about not needing raid, especially if backing it up with SD cards in cams.
