all of a sudden my NVR just displayed "failed to find network host" for all the cameras, appears POE power has dropped out on it??
all the cameras are connected directly to the NVR ports.
tried restarting and same issue.
anyone know whats going on??
where do i find the poe settings? i cant find them.
i can still access the NVR remotely so the network port is working ok

sorted out. i powered it off this time in person not remote, when it started up it said port 7 had exceeded its maximum capacity.
i removed port 7 plug and it started up all ok now.
i plugged it back in and seems to be ok so no idea what went on there.

Or the internal PoE switch going bad... It should start shutting down cameras when it exceeds its limit starting from the last active port... but I havent exactly tested that

If everything is stable with cam 7 out of the equation, might be a cam....But I went and got a POE switch and made the conversion before it got overworked.
I'm running 9 cams on a 4116 Amcrest ( Dahua OEM) and I like my network response better on a 1Gbps Poe switch over the 80Mbps Wan connection on the NVR.

nvr fan still running ok, no power, ive disconnected the cameras, left one in there, still same thing, restart and it willrun for 5 minutes then camera drops out.
so for fix, just stick a POE switch next to it??

Yep you can add a POE switch.

Make sure the fan isn't dirty. Give a good air duster to the entire inside of the motherboard and see if that helps. If it is dirty it can cause this as well.

You now have to manually add them to the NVR via IP address for each camera.

Is that an external POE switch or the POE module for the NVR?

What model is your NVR, btw?
cant remember model but its a POE model, i got an external POE switch as the poe had stuffed up in the nvr
