So I am installing a 12 camera system for my brother's residence. I purchased the following hardware;

Dahua
(10) IPC-T5442T-ZE
(2) IPC-K42A
(1) NVR5216-16P-4KS2E

I have successfully added 9 cameras; 8 via onboard POE in the NVR, and 1 via POE switch. For the life of me, I cannot get the NVR to recognize anything more than the 9 cameras. I have verified all lines and cameras are functioning properly. I have used 3 different POE switches with no success. Each of the three POE switches has worked individually, but again only one camera is recognized. It should be noted I believe the switches are fine and sending power because at night, despite the NVR not recognizing the additional 3, I can see the IR's turned on. Thought it might be a bandwidth issue and have set all cameras to 1080P/30FPS but still no luck! Would prefer not to have to buy POE injectors and use a switch instead, but I am running out of options?

Advice, suggestions, help would be appreciated! thanks.

Hi,

Have you verified that the cameras are all in the same ip range (ie 192.168.1.100 & 192.168.1.200 and NOT 192.168.1.100 & 192.168.0.200 and that you do not have a conflict of IPs?)
Can you access all cameras via web brower?

Genelit,

Thanks for the reply. I have left all cameras to their default private Class A range (10.0.0.1)... Interestingly, the three cameras recognized when placed in the "9th" camera position without needing any special manual overiding of IPs. I will mess with the ranges a little later and assign all cameras a new range and see if this helps?

Hmm. That also sounds strange.
Do the camera 10-12 appear as offline offline like my cam in chan 3? Can you access it from your computer?

Looks like you have the IPs under control.
Weird as you can access the 9th cam/chan otherwise i would have bet you had ip-ramge problems.
