Dahua NVR only records full time. No motion. Help

Hey guys, I have a small 8port white Dahua NVR w poe. Its an all in one box running NVR 4.0 software.

It will only record if I have the green General bar on all the time.

If I select yellow motion it will not record. Or blue intelligent. Same result. Not sure what inteligent is anyway.


I just want to record when there is motion. Am I missing a step on cameras? Or on NVR?

For some reason the geniuses at dahua have their firmware defaults set with motion disabled. Go to alarm section/motion and enable on every camera. Intelligent would be your IVS/AI rules. You’ll have to enable under parameters then draw some intrusion/tripwires.

Maybe that's because they want you to also 'intentionally' set up the motion zones / tripwires that go along with the motion feature.
