Hi all,
Today I've found out that I do not get push notifications from Dahua NVR to my phone.

While I'm still looking into it, I did find out that YESTERDAY there was an update to the DMSS app.
Adding to that, the update talks about "fix Turkmen P2P".
Updating the app didn't really fix anything here but I started thinking if it's not Dahua that changed something with the P2P server and had to update the app as well as the NVR for that.
And while my app was updated, my NVR reached EOL (End of Life) and do not get new updates.

Not sure if it's the case or just coincident but I also see another forum thread that is related to both yesterday and push notifications. Even though, they are talking there about BI and ZeroTier.
I'm also puzzled that if it's indeed Dahua P2P server, that's the BI+ZeroTier has to do with it.

Any clue would be highly appreciated.
If it's really the Chinese server, I'd expect a hot fix from Dahua even if the decided about EoL as it is not that old NVR (DHI-NVR5216-16P-I) and also it's not about fixing as it is about repairing something that they broke.
If not, any other clue as for what I've better check would also be appreciated.
Also, if there is any way to use ZeroTier or something close to it together with Dahua NVR I'd be more than happy to hear about it.

There is fresh firmware for Your 5xxx-I:

the second one (DH_NVR5XXX-I_MultiLang_V4.002.0000000.4.R.240725)

if this will not help, delete and install one more time DMSS on mobile, and relog to Dahua cloud account in DMSS.
If this will not help, then in NVR device properties in DMSS resubscribe to all multichannel alarm subscriptions...

Thank you (again) Steve.
It's been a while since I got such answer:
  • so quick
  • so detailed
  • so accurate
just pin point

I did guess about a need for an update to the NVR but I didn't look for any, because the NVR does have OTA but it didn't find an update.
So I knew about the EoL and I didn't find OTA => I assumed there is no update.

I can also add that I had to resubscribe to the IVS alarms as you suggested.

One last thing I can add here, is the new support for the HTML5.0 camera that I needed for my color 4k-T

thanks again Steve

I had to expect it that if Dahua fix one thing, they break another....

Anyway, I do find a big problem after the update:

Connecting to the NVR using browser (Chromium and/or Edge) I can't view the AI video captures of HTML 5.0 camera that were taken after the NVR's update

i.e I can open those videos on my Android phone app (DMSS) or directly on the NVR but I can no longer open it on any of the windows machines.
  • only the HTML 5.0 supported camera (color 4k-T in my case)
  • only refers to videos that were taken after the NVR update (I can see last days captures of THAT camera but not todays).
  • only VIA browser I can't see them (also on the phone). Both DMSS app and NVR can open them.
  • only refers to AI captures (such as IVS or FD etc. I can view the video of the "search" option.

we found (in different thread) that in latest NVR firmwares Dahua broken html5 player..

It have big problems with joining splitted video files on the fly...

Dahua NVR splits 24/7 video feed into small separate video files (sometimes even 2 seconds long), for each event (or new information about event)..

it works in IE mode (with plugin) and all Dahua apps.. only html5 mode is broken..

wow.....you again Steve
you couldn't rephrase it better. did a free trial on one of the extensions and it worked.
looking for a good free one till fix (won't) arrive.

and yes, I'm using IVS + IVS (in my case. two cameras are doing few tripwires each (different angles) so I make sure I do not miss alerts + gets more or less single ring on my phone.

Thanks again Steve
