I have an NVR that was purchased from a US dealer via eBay before I found this site and started buying direct from Andy.
The model number on the label is nvr402h-16 which comes back to WinicTech, however all of the branding on all the screens is standard Dahua. It was advertised and sold as a Dahua NVR4216, so I'm assuming its just a white label unit.
My question is, can I just update the firmware with the newest version directly from the Dahua site? The firmware that I have is from mid 2015, and the most recent on the Dahua site is late 2017.
I know there is an issue with Chinese cams with hacked firmware not being able to be upgraded. In theory, the white label units would be US units and not hacked stuff, so I'd think that the firmware would be just fine. But I figured I'd check before I hosed myself.
Thanks!
