Dahua NVR seems to forget IVS recording settings

I have a Dahua IPC-HDW5231R-ZE and a NVR4116HS-4KS2.
I records IVS/tripwire events on a SD-card in the camera and the NVR records 24/7 and IVS events.

Or it should. Every once in a while, the NVR stops highlighting/recording the IVS events; it just shows the 24/7/general recording green bar, not the orange IVS events.
When I search playback on the NVR for just IVS events; it just tells me "Channel name has no records".

I've search all the settings (and let's be honest; Dahua is terribly consumer unfriendly when it comes to things like that) and it should work.
And most of the times it does, but then it stops. Sometimes if I fiddle with the settings (turning it off and on again and things like that but actually not changing any settings) I sometimes get it to work again.

Now it happened it again. If I search on the NVR for IVS events it finds them on January 12, until 13.13 in the afternoon. But from then on, nothing.
I've played with the settings to get it working again, but no luck yet.

When I search the logs around that time (on both the camera and NVR) it gives me:

We don't have power outages, I didn't unplug the network cables or anything. I did not do anything. (I was away at the time).
I have a feeling the SD-card (in the camera) might be failing. Sometimes it not recording everything anymore.
(But in general; playback from the SD-card is fine; so a failing SD-card would mean playback would be affected which is not the case).
I also think the camera is much slower/less responsive when going through the UI/webinterface, compared to when I had it first; one example is the fact that it switches to a lower quality live stream in the webinterface "for better video playing experience" but that came when I upgraded the firmware a long time ago)
Or just general browsing through the webinterface of the camera can be slow, yet when I press "log out) it instanly goes to the login page again...

TLDR: does anyone know what's the solution for this problem is?

No answer here, but a few Q's just to confirm....

1. Your IVS settings are being setup on the camera itself, NOT on the NVR, correct?
2. When you lose the IVS events in the NVR, are you referring the main SEARCH menu of the NVR, or in the AI menu's search?
3. When you lose the IVS events in the NVR, are you still seeing them logged on the camera's IP itself (since you have an SD card?)
4. When you lose the IVS events in the NVR, do you see the event showing under the NVR's event log still? (based on your info above, it looks like the NVR isn't even seeing the event or getting it from the camera)
5. I'm not familiar with your NVR model, but, have you tried any different firmware releases?
6. Have you tried any factory resets on the NVR or cameras? Yes, I know it cam be a real PITA but can help clear out problems/issues sometimes too.

Just asking more questions to maybe help pinpoint something... others might have more input than me.

Correct.
2. When you lose the IVS events in the NVR, are you referring the main SEARCH menu of the NVR, or in the AI menu's search?
Yes. Just the normal Playback menu on the (webinterface) of the NVR and also the playback of Smart PSS on my laptop.
I don't use any form of AI.
3. When you lose the IVS events in the NVR, are you still seeing them logged on the camera's IP itself (since you have an SD card?)
Yes. That's how I normally view the events. (I rarely use the NVR for playback, pretty much only to search for things IVS/tripwire didn't trigger like things outside the tripwire lines etc.)
4. When you lose the IVS events in the NVR, do you see the event showing under the NVR's event log still? (based on your info above, it looks like the NVR isn't even seeing the event or getting it from the camera)
In the NVR's log there's nothing showing for IVS events, not even on the days the NVR does show the IVS events on the playback timeline.
(Or I'm looking wrong; i've searched the NVR logs under Operation -> Logs).

The funny thing is, if I turn on push notifications on my phone (DMSS) for IVS events on the NVR (so not from the camera), I do get notifications. So the NVR does receive those from the camera; the NVR just doesn't put them on the timeline.
5. I'm not familiar with your NVR model, but, have you tried any different firmware releases?
My NVR4116HS-4KS2 is using firmware V4.000.0000001.4, Build Date: 2019-11-29.
On the Dahua website there's a much newer version (V4.001.0000005.1.R.210713) and @EMPIRETECANDY may have posted newer firmwares on this forum.

I tend not to update my camera/NVR, don't fix what's broken.
6. Have you tried any factory resets on the NVR or cameras? Yes, I know it cam be a real PITA but can help clear out problems/issues sometimes too.
I haven't, that's probably my last resorts because as you say, that's a real PITA setting it all up again, since settings it up is VERY cumbersome.

Well, if it were me, something does seem broken, so I would proceed with a firmware update on the NVR, and factory reset after that. That would be my suggestion based on the above. May be a bit of a PITA but, thankfully, the NVR shouldn't have too many settings you need to fix/adjust after a firmware upgrade and factory reset. Especially if your camera(s) are the ones with all the configurations/IVS rules, etc.

Just unplug your cameras before you do the NVR firmware update! Right @JesseSR

I think you meant to say, to unplug the cameras during the factory reset (or even just a reset) -- yes, agreed. (It was probably an anomaly, but when I did a reset of my NVR a few weeks ago, it ended up overwriting all my cameras settings for picture/video/exposure, etc., what a mess. Though I'm not sure that's happened to anyone else or just me?)

I wasn't bothered enough to work on this, but today I found the NVR started displaying the IVS events again.
The first IVS event on the NVR was at 16:39:20 Yesterday afternoon. I didn't show a previous IVS event at 16:36:00 that was recorded on the camera's SD-card.
So in the logs I go to see what happened with the camera and NVR in that time period:

All 3 times it's referring to the camera (Channel 01, IP-adress of the camera)
Just for information; the camera IP-adress is 192.168.1.103, NVR is 192.168.1.110 and my laptop 192.168.1.150.

You guys have any idea what's going on here? I wasn't doing anything with either device, just had SmartPSS running on my laptop for live view.
Is this a SD-card failure, hardware failure or?

I suspect the SD card. There have been reports here over the years of odd things happening when they go bad.

As unexpected it started working again (), last Thursday night it stopped working again. No more IVS events in the NVR's timeline. 24/7 recording still working.
It stopped working on March 10 between 17:26 (last IVS event on the NVR) and 17:31:08 (next IVS event still recorded on the camera's SD card).
(also, the IVS events on the NVR are a few seconds behind the IVS events on the camera)

I guess I'm gonna find myself a new SD card or something?
@EMPIRETECANDY Are you familiar with this problem?
