Can Dahua or Will Dahua be able to make a firware update that will enable the NVR4216-8p NVR's to work with the H.265 Codec's? The newer Hivision DS-2CD2335-I cameras now support this Codec but the NVR does not atleast with FW 3.200.0000.6R.

I doubt they would upgrade previous NVRs even if they could. I don't think Dahua even has h265 cameras yet... ?

I asked my supplier and they said that the NVR4208-8P-4K now support H265. So they've gone to ask Dahua about a firmware update for the NVR4208-8P

I've just ordered a Dahua 4431c turret which is h.265 so they are definitely offering it in their new cams.

I now see on the Dahua Website the new DH-NVR4216-4K. When looking through the download section I see they have a firmware update for this new model. As for the NVR4216-8p the H.264 version they do not offer any firmware updates?????

Checked their support page again today and now see a firmware listed for the NVR4216-8p NVR. Firmware listed as DH_NVR4xxx_SpaEng_NP_V3.200.0000.9.R.20150529.
Has anyone tried this update yet? it looks to be R9?

Recently Updated all 9 camera to the Dahua 4mp H.265 cameras with a New Dahua NVR4216-8p-4k NVR. Turned the cameras to record in H.265 ad set the NVR to record the same. Now When downloading video the only way I can view the downloaded video is to export it as the original format. Trying to convert it to MPG or other formats fail to be able to view. I think this may be because there is not WIndows Support for H.265 at the time. the Bit rate I have been able to turn up from 1024 per camera to 1536 and video does look a lot cleaner & smoother. Additionaly I was only able to record about 10 days before 24/7 and now I Get over 20 days on a 4tb drive.

Found a New Problem. I Have recorded incident with the new H.265 camera and in Smart Player clip and download the video. When I go to Export it I have an option of AVI, MP4, and a few others, the only viewable option after extraction if the original .DAV format all other formats I try to extract and not viewable in the players. So the only way to view the files is with the Smart Player that extracts with the video from Smart PSS. is this something that will eventually get fixes when Windows has more support for H.265 video?
