Update: I unchecked all the IVS by recorder rules and was indeed able to activate FD/FR. That being said, its kind of a bummer I cant select either or on each camera but I didnt really need it anyway.

Yes... I know.
I have a 16ch version of this recorder.

With the same options of 'AI by device' - NVR and 'AI by camera' - The specific camera.
On a 5 series you can only activate one AI function by the NVR for a channel. E.g Face detection & recognition. Then you could enable IVS as 'AI by camera' to get both.

On a 6 series NVR (NVR6xxxx) apparently you can enable two AI functions by NVR.


Example of using two AI functions at once on a 5 series, this requires the camera to have some built in AI function:

FD/FR on the NVR
IVS on the camera (set on the camera itself)

I ended up doing the opposite of this.

Apparently, I had FD via my cameras AI and was able to use the NVR IVS which seems to be working great so far.
I just wanted the camera to grab stills of faces. I didnt really have the need for FR so no real loss there!
