I've been doing a lot of research and it appears the Dahua NVR5216-16P-4KS2E and N52B3P are the same NVR. I was looking to buy a N52B3P from Empire but they only have the NVR5216-16P-4KS2E. They have the same exact specs from everything I'm seeing. Am I missing something?

Welcome Ryan,

I have the older version of the NVR and with a firmware update it as been working well for me. I like that I can put 2x 3.5" HDDs in it. ( NVR5216-16P-4KS2, which I also picked up from Andy )

Good to know, I had the same question.

Is the 5216 rack mountable or will I need a rack mount tray for it?

No, although the 5216 is 1U in height, it is not as wide as 19" rack standard. Even more, there are no holes in the side to stick it onto brackets. My 1U 19" switch underneath is used as a foundation to hold the NVR :)

Thanks! Just ordered a 10" deep tray to set it on in the rack. That should get the job done for me. As it turns out Dahua does make a 19" rack mount tray for it, but they want around $100 for it, which of course is ridiculous.
