[FONT=&quot]Since I upgraded 5 of my cameras to Cantonk 5MP:

https://cantonk.en.alibaba.com/product/60298649989-218870438/H_265_H_264_5MP_IPC_IP_Dome_Camera.html?spm=a2700.7803228.1998738836.186.XmyF0b

I also replaced my Dahua nvr with their latest model NVR5216-4KS2 to take advantage of 5MP recording and the new H.265 codec (nvr specs say it decodes H.265). When I set the cameras to H.265. I get no picture in the nvr. Encode tab does not have H.265 setting option (see screen shot). H.264 setting on camera and nvr works fine. I emailed the nvr seller and he replied only Dahua cameras can use the H.265 setting. Any thoughts on how to get around this (besides buying Dahua cameras!)?

Sounds like you got your answer, set the cameras to h264 and continue on..

If you buy a hardware NVR like you did, and try to use it with 3rd party devices like you did, you just have to accept the fact that some features are not going to work.. as they do.

Thanks, I figured as much. I was hoping H.265 was more of a "standard" and not a "feature"!

H.265 is not mature enough guys. It took ages for H.264 to become compatible across the range back in the day. Those who remember xvid know what I'm talking about!
