this nvr is too old. Hence why I sold my 4116. The last update was like 2016 yeah. You should buy a NVR that supports the latest 4.0 firmware.

That's irritating. Andy (Empiretech) sold this to me only a few weeks ago along with the boobie cam!
my bad. then you might have the new version 2.0 hardware? its possible they will put 4.0 nvr firmware on it.

It says it's the latest version?

But website as above shows.

@user8963 I salute you. I bravely went where no noob has gone before. I upgraded it using the above file. Bingo! I've got both streams from my Boobie cam. Happy days.

You can not update the wrong firmware. The supported devices are listed in the header of the firmware and the device will check if it is supported before updating.

Even if you brick it (power off during update) you can use tftp to recover..

Just a FYI for folks that may not have seen this, but Andy will often get firmware versions from Dahua support that are newer that what's on their website and he'll share them in the EmpireTech sub-forum here. If you find a firmware you're interested in, always good to read through the entire thread to make sure others are happy with its performance.
