Can I not use an injector or switch listed as 48V PoE 802.3af for these cameras?

Sure can, it is listed in the specs. Alternatively you can power the camera using 12V off the pigtail.

So if the camera is “PoE” and PoE is normally 48v but the camera is 12v, won’t that be an issue as in fried camera??

The 2 circuit power jack (female) part of the pigtail is 12VDC ONLY and POE onto the Ethernet cable (pin 4 & 5 for DC+ and pins 7 & 8 for DC-) is termed '48VDC' (44 to 57 nominal) but you ONLY PLUG IN ONE OR THE OTHER...NOT BOTH.

You don't need to concern yourself about which pins on the Ethernet cable are used if you use only cables properly terminated as EIA-T568B on both ends or T568A on both ends AND you are plugging them into a POE switch or an NVR with POE ports.
