Hey everybody, So I went ahead and pulled the trigger on buying the Dahua SD59430U-HNI.

I bought this camera from Andy and as always he didn't disappoint. Very friendly, great customer service and so helpful.

So I just got this camera and have been playing with it in the basement..

The 4MP lens is awesome, can't wait to see it outside..

This weekend (5/19/18) I am going to add some night footage testing the IR.
Also I am going to test the IVS auto tracking utilizing some intrusion boxes

I'm impressed with the tracking capabilities of the SD59430U-HNI. Locks on the object and follows smooth. Take a look at the new video below i caught today..

Is this camera better then the 59230?
Because this is not a starlight ptz...

A see YouTube video's there they call it starlight... but its not...
Its not starlight but it is a 4mp camera.. instead of 2Mp better resolution

I just added power and network capability at the end of my 500' driveway - covering about 700' of frontage on my street. My road is a mile long, and my house is the only one on it - so daily traffic can be counted on one finger. Still, I wouldn't mind having the ability to see people who come down the road (usually turned down the wrong street). This camera is giving me an itch. My only concern is night-time vision. There are no streetlights, and without starts/moon, you cannot see your hand in front of your face.

I was under the impression that higher MP meant sacrificing low light capabilities (smaller pixels = less light). Thus the "starlight" capability is a strong desire.

Would anyone with concerns over night vision be concerned about the lack of Starlight?

To give you an idea of my location:

This just a temporary mount and there is some landscaping in the way.. Those mailboxes are about 900ft away, no lights at all

If you need the best night vision, then stay with a Starlight camera. I recently purchased one of these cameras and I'm very happy with daytime image. At night, the image is okay, but it is not as good as my Starlight PTZ cameras.

Thanks... That's what I was after. Love the auto tracking and powerful zoom, but don't want to walk backwards when it comes to nv.
