What do you think about IPC-T5442TM-AS vs IPC-HDBW5442R-ASE-NI ?
Hmm, looks like the IPC-HDBW5442R-ASE-NI is in the "WizMind" series (which I haven't noticed before) and has a larger f1.0 lens but no external lighting at all (no IR or LED).

Dahua declares it as full color camera so that means it should work good in the night.
I saw small test on the youtube ( ) and it works not bad at all.

Looks like Dahua relabeled their two high end families of cameras

Pro AI series now called WizSense
Ultra AI series now called WizMind

can you somehow make this camera turn on an led light if it senses activity?

Camera manufactures will over-exaggerate at times, so be careful of that.

In the test video you posted, I think that a T442TM-AS would have provided better image quality of the man. Granted, it would have been in B/W instead of color, but the extra IR light would have helped the image quality a lot. I personally think the Full Color cameras were designed for areas with more light at night.

The specs show that it has an alarm out wire, so you could probably hook that to a Z-Wave sensor that is set to control a switch/outlet that has a LED light connected to it. Depending on the requirements, it'd probably be easier to get a LED light with a built-in motion sensor and let it run separately. You have to factor in that the camera takes a second or two to adjust when lighting levels change dramatically, and the video quality during the adjustment isn't always useful.

As you not keen on dome camera's as in the past they have caused me trouble with the dome reflections in the image.

£157 here in the UK with a standard 3 year warranty.

If you go to Dahua's website (www.dahuasecurity.com), set the Location to "International", then search for "HFW5442", it should show you all of the 5442 bullet models. If you search for just "5442", it should show you all of the 5442 models (domes, bullets, turrets).

Ok :thumb:

Are all "5442" camera with same sensibility ?

And in the first picture on this Post, we can look "IPC-T5442TM-AS" on the Camera and Videos but on Dahua Website I can't find this Camera reference. Why ?

I'm looking for an IPC-T5442TM-AS but in Bullet case.

Aha, that is my oem model. IPC-B5442E-ZE is the bullet one. A fantastic model. Please refer to @Wildcat_1 review on the forum.

okay :) but it's a varifocalLens and I don't need it.
Then it's the IPC-HFW5442T-ASE-NI with 3.6 fixed lens ?

They should all have the same great 4MP 1/1.8" image sensor that helps them perform well in low-light, but definitely check the specs of any model that you're interested in to verify.

Hopefully I didn't screw up any of these links:

Fixed-Lens version:
Dahua Website: IPC-HFW5442T-ASE-NI
Andy's AliExpress Shop

IPC-HFW5442T-ASE-NI Max. Aperture : F1.0

IPC-B5442E-Z4E (Andy's AliExpress Shop) Max. Aperture : F1.6

Then it's not the same camera caracteristics.

The HFW5442-ASE-NI is a full color camera with an f-stop of 1.0 vs the 1.6 on the IR or LED version of the 5442. It will do better in low light but has no IR or white LEDs.

The fixed lens bullet 5442 models are

IPC-HFW5442E-SE - F1.6 2 IR leds
IPC-HFW5442T-SE - F1.6 4 IR leds

Those two are the same spec wise but different physical sizes.

IPC-HFW5442T-ASE-NI - F1.0 full color model

This is full color model with no IR.

Would IR really be necessary with an aperture F1.0 ? I

With low light, this camera is very impressive !

This Model (IPC-HFW5449T-ASE-NI) have same caracteristics:

Sorry for the mistake and resulting confusion. I'll delete my post.

That 5449 is an interesting camera. It matches up spec wise with the 5442t-ase-ni but with a 5449 number. I would think they would be identical performance wise.

IR or not really depends on your lighting situation at the site. If you have plenty of flood lighting or street lighting i would think a full color F 1.0 camera would do pretty well. Many people run the 5442t in color mode and it has an aperture of F 1.6.
