I am currently running 5.7.11 with Deepstack and it is working.

The last time I tried to update, I ran into multiple problems.

Is the current version of BI still working with Deepstack?
 
Unless there's something really important that you want/need if it ain't broke don't fix it. I'm on 5.5.7.11 as well and it's very stable and plays nice with DeepStack. Unless and until the SeanseAI integration gets ironed out and works without having to do reg edits and json file edits I have no intention of upgrading at all.

^+1 this. There are many folks still running Deepstack that are having issues with the newer BI updates that are now supporting SenseAI. I am holding steady at a version or two behind when the change was made. Direct to wire is the only big add-on, but my system is responsive enough that I do not think I would see the benefit.

I had DeepStack working then some BI update a while back screwed things up. I've decided to un-install Deepstack and migrate to using Code Project AI, but this isn't working either but I don't know why. I lost "all video clips" recently, although Alert clips remained. I've been back on 5.5.9.6 which brought back "all video" clips. I noticed today in the release notes that 5.6.0.8 has apparently addressed an issue with Database/Clipboard. Was this the problem that I had? For the time being I'm sticking with the latest critical or highly stable update, 5.5.9.6, but it hasn't delivered working Code Project AI here. It's going to take a while before Blue Iris is working well enough with Code Project AI which like me and many others here are looking towards to.

I'm running 5.6.0.8 and (knock on wood), I haven't had any issues with Deepstack (probably jinxed it now).

I took a risk and updated to 5.6.0.8 I kept the "All clips" column but I seem to lose some recent Alerts. I'm rather wary, so with little delay or investigation I went back onto 5.5.9.6.
 
I am running 5.5.9.6. I tried CodeProject SenseAI, got it working on the 3rd try. I tried it for about a week, wasn't too impressed and went back to Deepstack and I'm happy with it. I am running Deepstack 2022.01.01 with no issues with it or Blue Iris.

Noting that every system can be totally different on how it reacts to updates. But for me Codeproject made a huge difference in my AI times and uses less memory and CPU compared to deepstack...hopefully you will get better results down the road. I'm a happy camper just running the CPU version.

Seems like they really jumped the gun with a premature SenseAI release. All these new releases don't appear to be SenseAI related so I assume the issues are on the SenseAI side and not BI5. I was about a year behind implementing DS after it was integrated with BI5 (mostly due to expired upgrade support). Perhaps I need to give it a year before transitioning to SenseAI.

Many here agree with you!

Sure Deepstack had some issues and I was on the leading edge of trying it out for our members by literally downloading that latest update the moment it became available.

But we never had to go and do json edits and edits to the registry. The biggest issues were was it car,person or was there a space after the comma LOL.

There just seems to be way more issues for folks than with Deepstack. Sure we still had active posts of members Deepstack not working, but those were more user error in putting the files in the wrong directory or setting up motion detection wrong, but once they got that straightened out, they were good to go.

My concern is the whole flashy webpage and userface and feel and what not for SenseAI leads me to believe this is an initiative those folks started with the hope that someone buys them out and then it becomes a paid service. Kind of like what OpenALPR did and now we have to pay $8 per camera per month when Rekor bought it. Deepstack on the other hand has been around awhile and really looked like a grassroots hobby community and as such would be less likely to be attractive to a company wanting to get into AI.

Time will tell....

I'm gonna be pissed if AI turns into a subscription service. OMG, I had no idea y'all are paying $8 per camera per month. Wowza!

Yep, it used to be free when it was opensource community based. Then Rekor bought it and kept it free for awhile for homeowners, then started charging but at a rate of $5 for the homeowner and then raised it to $8 with no improvements or anything.

We suspect they will eventually get rid of that and make everyone use their $55/month/camera rate.

So if Rekor purchases SenseAI, we know what will happen LOL.

That is what makes MikeLuds LPR program with BI so awesome. I think there are still some issues with it with SenseAI, but I haven't followed it closely enough since I am not ready to jump on the SenseAI wagon yet.

I have been using my LPR api with SenseAI since they add GPU support. All you need to do is change some ports. I am going to try and make a ALPR module for SenseAI, it might take a month or two.

Yes, results seem to be all the place. I am running i5-4590, cpu version. Looks like it depends on pc, cameras, scenes, view, contrast, etc. I have 2 cams that I run combined and delivery. With CodeProject they averaged 550ms, Deepstack averaged 300ms. I didn't notice much change in CPU or memory, detection seemed about the same. Not a big deal to edit registry or json files but I don't see this as being ready for primetime, anyway thanks to you guys who are on the cutting edge of testing this. I may revisit this at some point but I'm happy with Deepstack for now. I will continue to watch the CodeProject SenseAI thread.

What version CodeProjectAI were you using with the 550ms average times? The old versions had some speed issues, the current version does not have the speed issue anymore.

It was the latest issue, I don't remember the version number but I remember you mentioning the speed issue in the CodeProject SenseAI thread so I made sure I had the latest version from their website.

I agree with the general sentiment here on waiting to move to SenseAI.
Altering JSON files is trivial - but also the biggest indicator that it is simply not ready for prime time.
