Deleting files versus reinstall

I have a couple of questions and observations and could use some advice.

I'm adding another hard drive to my system and would like to get rid of all the old .bvr files and jpgs.

Currently I have 31,000+ jpg files occupying 28 GB of space.

I don't want to lose all my camera settings.

Should I export everything, delete all the files in the BlueIris directories and reinstall blue iris
or should I select the files and let blueiris is delete them?

Is there any harm in just deleting the .jpg files?

And lastly, when some one says delete the database, what files are they talking about deleting?
In my DB directory I have:
Directory of C:\BlueIris\db

09/21/2023 02:08 PM <DIR> .
09/21/2023 02:08 PM <DIR> ..
09/22/2023 07:25 AM 831,655,992 clips.dat
09/22/2023 07:25 AM 1,100,640 index.dat
09/21/2023 02:08 PM 0 text.dat
09/22/2023 07:20 AM 254,000 view.alerts.dat
09/22/2023 07:22 AM 19,560 view.all.dat
09/22/2023 06:52 AM 10,240 view.aux1.dat
09/22/2023 06:56 AM 3,848 view.cam.backdoor.dat
and a bunch more view.cam files

I'm running 5.7.3.0.

And my observation: changing frame rate doesn't change the data rate to .bvr files.

Thanks!

If you are not replacing the drive that BI is on, there is no reason to reinstall BI.

If you don't care about about the .bvr and .jpg files simply stop BI as a service, delete those two file extension files, delete the Directory of C:\BlueIris\db folder and then restart BI.

You will then have no video or jpgs and it will start fresh.

No it will not unless you intentionally started moving files around LOL.

People here delete the DB folder and start over the videos all the time.
