Sounds pretty good, but I would check the wattage of the processor. Often there are multiple versions of a processor that run at different speeds. If this is going to run 24/7, it might consume twice as much power or more as a T variant of the same processor. I just a built a music server/player with a T variant of a Xeon processor that can be cooled with only heat pipes and no running fans (noise issue). My video processing computer has an S or K processor that runs noticeably hot and takes four or five fans to cool, but it does run faster!

I prefer this site for comparison
http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i7-4790-vs-Intel-Core-i7-3770

The biggest difference is that the 4790 is a Haswell vs. the older Sandy Bridge 3770 processors. This means that the CPU pocket is newer and has a bit more life in it if you wanted to upgrade the CPU at a later time, although you're pretty near the top of CPU for that socket anyways.

Power consumption is about the same, 84w vs. 77w, difference of <$5/yr in power usage.

My biggest issue with that 9020 is that is has 1tb disk space in 2 500gb stripped. You do not want to have 2x500gb drives stripped. That means the data is spread across 2 drives as one big volume. If a single drive fails, you lose ALL the data on both drives. You could however reconfigure them as a mirror setup. Consider the system to have 500gb of space, not 1tb.

The memory and space upgrades may make sense, but $465 for strictly cpu performance is not worth it IMO.
