determine actual focal length

I have an IPC-HDW5231R-Z and an IPC-HFW5231E-Z.
How can I determine the actual Focal Length of the cameras?

If I remember correctly the scale from 0 to 1400 and at some point someone did the math and proposed each number Represent X millimeters but it was not really known this was accurate.

That said my memory on this may be inaccurate.

Using vari-focal camera to determine focal length of fixed-focus camera

In this case it would be:
equivMM = (12mm-2.7mm)/1400*currentSetting+2.7mm
Set it to zero and you get 2.7mm set it to 1400 and you get 12mm.
algebra really isn't that hard.
