I have exactly this model.. and I must say that 3449 TIOC-PRO (IPC-HDW3449H-AS-PV-PRO) which I have next to 5449 have better night color image quality..
it's much sharper and give brighter image with much more colourful image..

ps. yes 5449 (F1.0) is little brighter that 5442 (F1.6) at night, but it's have very underperforming video processing...

Steve are you saying 3449 beats the 5449 or 5442 beats 5449. keep in mind that also need varifocal to get up close

no... TIOC-PRO have only fixed lenses...

for varifocals - only good old 5442 & 7442... -ZE and -Z4E variants..
5449-ZE is not sharp, I don't know is this problem in my camera or simply this is problem for all line (F1.0 constant varifocal aperture in 5449-ZE - I never saw any camera lenses with optical zoom which had fixed aperture)..

the HFW5849T1P-ASE-4K "fullcolor" is super bright allowing fast speed at night but for zoom in purpose :

1. if i go for DH-IPC-HFW5442E-ZE at full zoom and compare that to a DH-IPC-HFW5442E-Z4E but actually only use 12mm of its full zoom , are they going to be comparible pics
2. whats difference between e & t versions
3. what does s3 bring
4. if im going to run this alondside my HFW5849T1P-ASE-4K with high lumen light , is the 5442 going to be significantly dimmer & therefore need settings that will make pic poor & grainy
5. will the pic be significantly darker at night on 7mm zoom compared to say 32mm zoom
