Does anyone know if these are the same NVR or not ??

The firmware listed on Wiki for the DHI-NVR42A04-P = H_NVR4xxx_SpaEng_NP_V3.201.0000.1.R.20160409

Dahua firmware list shows NVR-42XX-P = DH_NVR4xxx_Eng_P_V3.202.0000.1.R.20170321

Did you have a look at www.Dahuawiki.com ? The model with the A in the name looks like a US domestic market model. And normally they equal an international market model, except of the naming and support.

Yes... that's where the "A" model firmware was for the US NVR, but I didn't know if the international firmware would work on it.

From the tech specs it looks like, but can't tell you for sure. The case seems to be different.
Normally the firmware would not flash if the model isn't in the supported device list of the firmware. So it worth a try, but on your own risk of course
