I have an exisiting system of ds-7608ni-i2-8p (DVR) and 6 x non-colour hikvision cams. Was planning to buy around 2 of colourvu DS-2CD2347G2-L to swap out. Does the DVR support 2 of the new and 4 of the old with no issues and is it just a hot swap?
Your ds-7608ni-i2/8p is a great NVR and will easily support 2 ds-2cd2347g2-l and 4 older Hikvision cameras.
I not sure what you mean by hot swap... if you replace 2 cameras, the new ones will need to be configured... not too difficult.
Are you happy with the way the existing system is running now? Did you install the system yourself? Do you have the NVR and camera passwords?
Even if you weren't going to upgrade cameras, it's probably a good idea to check the firmware versions running on the NVR and cameras, especially if the system is connected to the Internet.
