Difficulty in comparing these Ip8m bullets

Well, All these 3 are closely similar albeit the $278 one but I just can't define the subtle differences considering the small price diff. etc.
Maybe one is an older model but am overwhelmed.
Could be someone with more experience and a clearer head could pick out the differences and recommend if feeling like it.
Amcrest:

IP8M-VB2696EW-AI $189 Amazon

IP8M-VB2796EW $199 (no AI, intrusion, tripwire, etc?) but bigger number!

IP8M-VB2896EW-AI $279

A lot to ask but I know some of you are very verse in these things so if you find idle time "HA" maybe you could give an analysis.

Thanks,
kilopapa

To be honest they are all the same. Even though one does show that the Sensor is different. Yet the IP8M-VB2896EW-AI the one that might have the wrong sensor size reported. Does show that it has 2x the Rom.. The other 2 show they have 256 where the IP8M-VB2896EW-AI shows it has 512.. out side of that the numbers almost look the same.. The 2796 while it does look like it offers some IVS like Tripwire and Intrusion it might not support the Filter of Human and Vehicle.. .. Besides these they all look the same and with the FOV being the same on all 3 my guess is they might all 3 have same sensor size even though the one data sheet says one is smaller and normally smaller isn't better and infact is the camera with more ROM so to me this don't make that number look right... I have a Dahua with same lens and the 1/2.7" sensor and to be honest at about 2 or 3x zoom I am not 100% impressed.. Picture below...

Man, super nice to get such a crisp reply....never have seen rom specs but not dug deep enough, obviously.
Can't figure what the 2x rom would give you, BUT it is $100 more which one would think would buy you something.
Even in today's world.
Is twice the rom that useful? I couldn't see the $100 benefits in the $279 model.
I am running this:

IP8M-2696EW-AI and it is very sharp but a very WIDE FOV ~128, which I needed.

I was going to piggy back the zoom as the center is exactly what needs to be watched also and they are of the same form.
I suppose the 2796 is the way as it's basically same price.....I've had very good luck with Amcrest sharpness.
Sorry to to hear about your plight.....but didn't really want to jump brands.

Most here would say skip them.

If you care about night performance, you will want a MP/sensor ratio in green:

Here is a recent example someone posted with an 8MP on the 1/2.8" sensor (similar to the camera MP/sensor ratio you have) versus 8MP on the proper sized sensor (1/1.2" sensor) - which image looks better to you?

Now keep in mind this is a static image. Motion would convey a completely different picture.

Of more importance is that the top picture is default settings, so a horribly slow shutter of maybe 1/12 so any motion would be a blur. The 2nd picture is a 1/100 shutter and will get a clean capture. The faster the shutter speed, the more light that is needed. That bottom picture at 1/100 shutter is impressive. If the top camera was set to a 1/100 shutter it would be a very dark image.

Almost any camera can do well in the daytime with enough light, even cameras that are 8MP put on a sensor designed for 2MP. But keep in mind that usually the processor and other stuff are still designed around 2MP, so the camera struggles trying to keep up with 8MP worth of data.

So buying an 8MP camera on the same sensor as the 2MP processor means that the processor is potentially working 4 times as hard for the 8MP camera. The cameras you are looking at are designed for 2MP, so when they pop an 8MP lens on it, the processor is still the same and has to work harder. In some situations that is problematic.

Nice....that foreground almost looks like IR but instead it is just a GOOD camera with an ~F1.2--- lens?

Before you answer I had read about this sensor interaction and thought I would just try the 5x IP5M-VB1286EW-AI.
I really don't need 8MP and it might come closer to what you have shown. AND in you nice graph.
Any idea what device took that 2nd pic? Maybe not even a Optical Zoom...

Thanks for coming in with that.
I need a bullet form for my application....
I bought Empires Auto Tracking BIG unit but not too familiar how to how to shop Empire.
But I see that F1.2 sensor and know what you mean.
Do they have a bullet form that you know of with the good light specs?

Yes, the Z4E is a more powerful varifocal (32mm versus 12mm) and starts at a higher focal length (8mm versus 2.7mm) so you would need to make sure the area you want to cover fits within that range.

The 4K/X is the bullet version of the 4K/T

But what are the goals of the camera? The Z4E is the right camera if you want IDENTIFY at 60 feet with a narrow field of view while the 4K/X is the right camera for OVERVIEW or IDENTIFY at 15-ish feet out.

So are so kind to give me such nice guidance.
I'm in Calif. and I don't where you are but don't want to drag you into a long analysis now.
Your comments on the distance were right on and I understand all these camera specs pretty well.
Maybe if you have a little time tomorrow and or when you are usually on here, I can send the one extra WIDE (131) fixed shot,
Then you can see my idea was to put another bullet above or below to cover the centerline of the wide shot which follows the street out of a cul de sac,
Kinda wide view and then narrow view OUT if they had foul play while turning around.
It's a unique layout but fun. I imagine this is a little fun for you, (I hope) or we wouldn't be doing this.
Is it bad style to send a pic of my site right here? Will some goof try to find me....bah?
Anyway, going to hit the rack but right here all day and most of the night West Coast.
Let me know if you in but if I've hammered too much, that's ok too.

Sure thing. You can post a picture here or DM me if you prefer to not have the image on full display.
