Display time going backwards on Hikvision DS-2CD2T32-I5

So I'm having the weirdest issue on one of my client cams, can't figure it out and have never seen the issue before.

I get an alert that the camera has gone offline, so I login and see that it is actually online. But when I look at the display time the time is going backwards, then it stops and zooms forward freezes and goes back maybe 30 seconds and does this on repeat. Its on the camera direct live view and its in the NVR recording so it appears its the actual camera doing it.

The camera is installed about 9ish months and up until a month ago was fine. No firmware updates done on the cameras or NVR.

Its indoors, all new cat6 shielded cabling, and running on a 48 port poe switch with the other 5 cameras.

Has anyone seen this kind of behavior before ? Rebooting the camera solves it for a week or so then it starts doing it again, always in the evening oddly.

Maybe time isn't synchronized. I think ONVIF requires it.

Both camera and NVR are Hikvision so it will be using Hiks own protocol not ONVIF.

Its a potential possibility but if they weren't syncing I would assume the time would be just wrong, instead of the seconds going backwards and forwards in an erratic loop.
