I have a old pc I used at a home theatre PC.

It's a Dual core Amd X2 2.7 and 8 gig of ram, I was hoping I could reuse that as a NVR with BlueIris or something similar. I will chuck a WD Purple in it as well.
Will it be able to handle 6-8 cameras? or would I be better off getting a HIK NVR?

Welcome to the forum..that will not work with blue iris and 6 hiks its way too weak...

You'd be better off buying a cheap NVR... that PC isn't going to cut it at all... AMD CPUs need not apply ever.

Thank you for your advice, I thought that might be the case. I was just being cheap :D

I don't need Poe ports because I have a 16 Port injector that is used for wifi APs as well. Based on that can someone point me in the direction of the best NVR I should be looking at?
