DMSS app

I have had the same Dahua NVR for a while with no issues using the DMSS app. They recently updated and it is giving me issues. All notifications are one hour behind. If I use the playback it constantly jumps backward an hour or forward an hour. It’s pretty much unusable. I think it’s more than a time issue. The green bar you slide to change playback time doesn’t work correctly. It just constantly jumps around. The live video time and date are correct though. I talked to Dahua support and they basically told me that’s not possible and the NVR time has to be off. If I log onto the NVR everything works perfectly and the time is correct. Playback works great. I don’t know much about this stuff but I have never really had much issues until they updated the app. The NVR is a model N41B1P2 using four Dahua cameras.

Are you running a 24 hour clock on the NVR? (12 hour day/night clock has always been problematic)
Are all cameras plugged directly into the NVR PoE ports?
iOS or Android?

* Never allow critical apps to auto-update. Especially Dahua FW or App.
Unless there is a known big new benefit, I dont update for months or even years if I have software thats working

It will make a difference on some things. It’s buggy. But maybe not your DMSS problem.

I don’t have the latest version but I have seen others say they had issues a few weeks ago that are improved now.
Might check and manually see if there’s an update.

I just unchecked the whole DTS section on the NVR and it doesn’t jump around anymore and my notifications are correct time. Now my only issue is playback has to be at least an hour back. So if it’s 4:45 and I want to see playback for anything after 3:59 it won’t let me until 5:00.

That’s a time setting on the NVR.

There is a known DST bug on older NVRs. I don’t know if it’s in new ones.

It typically will clear itself at midnight after you make the switch you made.

The cameras get their time from the NVR. DMSS just plays what the NVR gives it.

Go into the NVR and do a playback Prior to when you made the change.Take a snapshot. Is the time on the playback right?

If the time is off, any recording up to the time you made the DST setting change will be off an hour
