Good afternoon,

First off good day to you all.

Before I get started here is some background of what I am running:

DMSS app (Latest Firmware) - Using Pixel 9 pro XL Android phone.

Dahua CCTV 4K NVR 16ch POE DHI-NVR5216-16P-4KS2E with 8TB of storage (Latest Firmware)

Dahua IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV S4 8MP X2

Dahua DH-IPC-HDW-3549TMP-AS-LED X2

Dahua IP DH-IPC-HDBW3541EP-AS

So here's the problem I have Intrusion and Tripwire enabled and have been recieving the Alarm messages on the app and have been pushing through to the phone itself okay.

A few days ago I noticed I am not recieving any push notifications through to the phone i.e not pinging up and showing me on the phone itself that it has been triggered however when I open the app the alarm messages are all there.

I have the Multi channel alarm enabled ( for Tripwire and Intrusion) and can confirm disable alarm linkage is disabled.

If I go into the phone settings-notfications-apps-DMSS the notifications are enabled.

As far as I recall nothing has changed.

Many thanks

James

Hi James,
I installed a new Dahua NVR DHI-NVR4208-8P-AI and 4 WizSense 6MP cameras on November 15th. I am using DMSS on my iPhone 15 Pro Max. I have been getting all the notifications since day one. Then last week, I think, Thursday night, I stopped getting them at all. I have tried everything: restarting the NVR and cameras, reinstalling the app, turning notifications off and on, all different things.
Other than notifications, the app works OK. I can see all the events in Messages, Can view live feed and playback. I can see all the events in the timeline. Just not getting the push notifications.
NVR and Cameras run the latest firmware.
I think something is broken on their end.

We see that from time to time if a P2P server goes down.

Or someone reads that P2P is insecure and turns it off and doesn't make the connection that this was when the push notifications stopped. Push notifications will not work without P2P enabled.

For me, the P2P is definitely ON, as my DMSS App can access the NVR over 5G, and I can do everything except receive push notifications. In fact, the only notification I received was "NVR Offline " when I rebooted it.

Mine is the exact same I only receive an actual push notification when i reboot the NVR, it looks like a waiting game until it's back online.

Yep, sounds like the P2P sever, OR your connection to it (quite possible) is down

I am having the same problem - the push notifications were working fine till Thursday then they stopped appearing on the phone (I can see them when I open the DMSS app). This is really frustrating - they need to urgently look at this - is this a Dahua issue or DMSS app developers? Atleast DMSS could acknowlegde the issue and send some kind of message out or have it appear on a website or something! I tried all sort of resolutions until I found this thread. Hope it gets resolved asap!

Forgive this somewhat related Noob Question (While waiting for my first Dahua/Empiretech camera to be shipped):

Can push notification to a phone be generated by a camera without an NVR (ie with camera connected via PoE switch to router). Camera is a PTZ6C4G-45X

Thanks!

Well, my push notifications just started working again. I did have a response from Dahua Support. They suggested removing the NVR from the app and adding it again. I did that last week—no joy. Then, they offered to provide them with my password for the NVR for additional diagnostics. I was not keen, to be honest. Anyway, I am unsure if support did something or is just a coincidence, but I started getting push notifications 10 minutes ago.

thanks for the update Andrew - that is so bizarre. I just went outside and waled around near the cameras and my push notifications have started working now too (since the last 30 minutes or so). For reference for other users, I am based in England and finally the push notifications seem to be working again :)

Finally I can report I am also getting the notifications again now.

Thankyou to all that responded it is most definitely one of the most helpful forums I have visited.

It seems most of these reports, not just this latest round, originate from Europe.
Something different going on with P2P servers there I think.
