With Dahua DMSS V 1.96 on Android a new issue popped up: when going from live view to one of the Motion Alarm (via SMD) recordings, in 50% of the attempts I get the error message: "No permission" appended with the <camera_name>". DMSS release V1.95 did not have this issue.

I just downloaded and tested 1.96.001 (build date 17NOV21), it works better, however after watching 5 recordings, the same problem: No Permission started to pop up again. So disappointing it is still not fixed. It seems that as soon as the error message: "No Permission" occurs it is persistent and you get this message for every view attempt. Wait a few minutes , restart the app and I can watch a few more recording. Hopefully the DMSS dev team can resolve this bug in the next round.

Same problem 1.96.001 too.

Reinstalled the app, wiped cache, configuration from scratch.

Random "no permission" when I try to playback recordings or alerts.

So, uninstalled latest 1.96.001.

Installed 1.95.000 version, no problems or bugs at all. Disabled the auto update option untill DMSS Dev Team fixes the bug.

So odd, 1.96.001 seems to be working for me but just in case, where did you find 1.95? Thanks.

Update, It worked ok for several hours and then the error reappeared. I found the 1.95 version by searching for DMSS apk.

Downloaded from apkpure.

I think it's an option in the android store
Yes, after installed 1.95 from apk file, searched DMSS in playstore, instead of uninstall or update, click on three dots icon and uncheck enable auto update.

How do you guys feel with there TOS for using DMSS? I don't have an account and only use local access but feel some of there shady business practices has me worried what data the app collects.

I know its no different than all other apps, but this is supposed to be for security.

I been trying Amcrest Viewer Pro and the UI is terrible but it doesn't collect any addition data, main reason to switch is that one of my cameras can only get added by S/N connected to the internet while this is not the case with the amcrest app.

Just get the news from dahua, the bugs has been fixed up on the new version, already submit to the Google play, need 2-3 days can be approved. Then can download and update.

@EMPIRETECANDY Connection Failed.- IPC still here in DMSS version 1.96.002 I have send you a direct email with the details of the problem. It seems a timeout
when a camera is connected to ADSL (0.5Mb/s=500Kb/s upload speed) I belief Motion view does not stop the live stream , causing bandwith and timeout issues. Fix is maybe
always stop live view (ideally only when low bandwith and basic on camera SD card recording...) then have DMSS fetch the DAV and load into Android?

The camera is an ADSL copper line only premises, there is no fiber optic cable in sight :)

New bug fix update for Android 1.96.002 is great for me. Finally motion or vehicle detection via SMS works! All sorted for stupid "permission" error for playback.
Thanks Andy for your intervention on this.
Early Christmas present for all DMSS users hopefully?
