IPC-B52IR-Z12E refuses to accept an ip change from the default 192.168.1.108 - is it possible that the camera is defective? The Dahua app will do everything (initialize, etc) except successfully change the IP. (The camera has been reset multiple times, as well as having the power removed for 10+ seconds, then reconnected.) We've tried setting the Microsoft laptop's IP to 192.168.1.1 (our network is 192.168.50.1). Help? Do I need to return it?

Are you changing the password in configTool after initializing the camera? This is a big gotcha in configTool, until you learn it the hard way, then it's a nothingburger.

I'm not sure what that means. What is the correct sequence of events, please? Also, in order to get back to a clean start, do I need to reset (10+ seconds on the reset button) the camera (to un-initialize it)? BTW: We have tried this as well ...

Try using Internet Explorer, yeah it is still baked into Windows. It can be browser dependent and sometimes configtool doesn't work right.

Factory reset by supplying power and holding reset for 20 seconds.

Then open up IE and type in default IP and initialize the camera.

Is Pale Moon no longer an option? (64-bit refused to install but 32-bit did.)

After you initialize the camera, go to Search Setting and enter the Username/Password you set the camera to. Then try to change the IP. It "should" work.
(this info for configTool)

The newer versions display a warning to do this after you initialize the camera, but it's easy to miss and frankly non-intuitive.
