So I think im going to be mounting to my soffit (well soffit like material thats above my front door). I was supplied with the PFA130-E junction boxes to go with my 2231R's. However since im going to be screwing it straight to the ceiling....is using the junction box worthwhile?

Also side note: I already attached the RJ45 connector to my cat6 cables, is there any way to get the waterproof connector on without having to cut it off and re-do it?

Thanks!

You will be fine without a mounting as long as you secure any connectors behind so they are free from water damage. As for your connector you could cut it and bodge it back together (I wouldn't) or spend 2 mins crimping a new RJ45 connector :)

Gotcha, yeah the connectors will be up in the attic so they should be hidden from water damage. I already own the junction boxes so I didn't know if it would be any benefit to go ahead and use them?
