Do you coat the lenses of your cameras? Or use a 'hat'?

With like RainX or some other product so rain or snow doesn't accumulate on the lens?
On my exposed turret if something falls on the lens it ends up melting/drying after a while, but during those few hours my camera just captures a big smudge.
Or is a 'rain hat' the way to go?

RainX can destroy some lens covers so best to avoid.

Rain hat is probably best to use if you don't have it covered some other way.

Just keep in mind there will always be that storm that winds push the rain horizontal so it may still get hit.

Or get the PTZ cams with wiper blades lol.
