Hello All,

I am trying to add 2 foscam F1990 cameras to BV and I was told by the foscam tech team that it doesn't support the 1080p foscams. I don't see it listed in the dropdown but I was hoping there was something generic that could be used?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
George

Welcome to the forum. If you mean blue iris, of course its supports 1080p. Its will support any camera that sends and rtsp signals. If foscam the fi990X series cameras are on the blue iris dropdown list. Select the c1/c2 option you will see 990x at the end of that list.
That said, there are MUCH better camera options than the foscam.

Thanks for the help. I'm just getting into this and I would be interested in your camera recommendations. I had a cheap Lorex system that was worthless. I had for two years, and Costco took it back! I need something that works great at night and works well with blue iris.

If night vision is important stick with 1080p (in general, if the sensor is the same size, as you go higher, nightvision gets worse) cameras in general. Look at hikvision and dahua. Adding extra lighting will help tremendously. If hikvision buy from a US seller and make sure its US region. Also see the threads on Longse 5mp (it has a larger sensor and very good night vision) as well as the huisun mini ptz. Both of the later brands have not been extensively used for long period so long term reliability is unknown. Any of these options are better than foscam.
