Dahua's cameras have a good IVS feature. Motion detection is still basic though; depending on preferences, whenever an object passes by, the camera saves a picture / video of that moment to the hard-drive.

However, I was thinking if it would be possible to take it one step further and perhaps devise some way for the feature to take facial recognition into account; and from there, catalog faces and tally the number of times that subject crosses that particular area.

Can such a feature work, or does it require better optics? @nayr might be able to chime in :D

you are not going to find facial recognition in 100-200 dollar camera...there is expensive software for this..

Oh,

I thought we all have reached a point now where it would be possible to do so
In the meantime, best option would probably be to use a fast-play option in the NVR to see a summary of all motion-detection events during a particular da
