I suggest, that if there is a need to use VTO directly from a Smartphone, than look for VTO2111D-WP.
If you need to record a video stream from a VTO to your Dahua NVR5XXX-4KS2, than you need to configure "Add device" manually and write there an RTSP command string, than it will be possible to record it but no MD.

I run 7 ipcams on my DS412+ (Intel Atom D2700, 2GB RAM). Two of them are 1080p, 3x 720p, one 640x480 and the 800x480 from the VTO2000A.
I leave motion detection up to surveillance station for all cams. In addition I have some docker containers (OpenHAB2.0,Asterisk,etc.) and mediaserver stuff running, but my cpu load is less than ~40% average.
My experience tells me, that even your low power syno will not have a problem with motion detection from 1-2 low res cams like the VTO2000A.
Which Dahua Cam did you choose in Surveillance Station for VTO2000A?

Hi, I don't own a Synology, but you can try this: ONVIF Device Manager --> let it "search" and "inspect" your VTO. If it finds the onvif paths, you can then use those in the "onvif general" profile in your Synology.

Good luck!
