Hi,
Brought value series DS-2CD1323G2-IUF camera . it has motion detection 2.0

works great , only triggers when person moves by camera , ignores shadows, cats, falling leaves and what not.

only issue is that it fails to detect motion if person is far from camera about > 10m .

seems like if size of person on image is small then camera wont detect it - meaning if u crouch and walk it wont trigger.

sensitivity is set to 100 and the grid covers the entire image/screen , tried setting 'human/vehicle' to on and off - makes no difference . maybe some calibration issue in firmware .

any possible fixes ? , thanks in advance

There are no fixes for motion 2.0 it is as it is. Since you have serie 1 , you lack smart events whereas you can calibrate MIN/MAX values hence getting better results for your scene.

For instance if you went with 2323G2 you would be able to make it work. With 1323, i don't see any option that you would be able to tweak it.

Since you said it cant detect >10m, is it fair to assume you use 2,8mm lens? You could get better results with 4mm but then again your fov would be narrower.

Cheers

thank you , thats disappointing :( . yes 2.8mm .

does 2323G2 have min/max values ?

do NVRs have similar setting ? was looking into buying this model : DS-7608NXI-K1

i was bit confused on what motion detection capability it has .

model page says

1-ch, 4 MP (HD network camera, H.264/H.265) video analysis for human and vehicle recognition to reduce false alarm
4-ch, 4 MP (when enhanced SVC mode is enabled, up to 8 MP) video analysis for human and vehicle recognition to reduce false alarm
All channels, 4 MP (when enhanced SVC mode is enabled, up to 8 MP) video analysis for human and vehicle recognition to reduce false alarm

does it have motion detection 2.0 on all channels or 4 channel ?

appreciate your input . thanks .

There is hope for you afterall,

That NVR supports 1ch to add intrusion detection or line crossing with min/max values.

Meaning you configure smart event over NVR for your camera. and make VCA by NVR for that channel.

For the rest of cams sadly you will stay on motion detection 2.0 which have prebuilt calibration which does not suit your needs.
