Not much is going to beat the DS-2CD2335FWD-I for low-light image quality... It's Hikvision's version of a Dahua Starlight turret.

Forgive me, I'm curious, as it's not often we hear of a hardware failure with Hikvision IP cameras.

Dead, or just bricked?
Dead by itself, or as a consequence of a specific action?
Does it show on SADP?
And do the IR lights show on power on?

Not much is going to beat the 2335 for low-light image quality...
But look carefully, it must be the DS-2CD2335FWD-I for the low-light capability.
Other 2335 variants don't have that low-light sensor.

Are the 8MP of this model any better? I assume they are worse at night but how is the day time image.

It’s dead not bricked sdap does not see it. Had been working fine for years outside.

Funny enough I have another one that goes out when the temps are cold below 10F and it will come back on when the temp has gone up.

The 5 and 8 MP provide very good day picture. The night picture is not as good as the 2, 3 and 4 MP.

I never did replace it now I have another one dead it’s the one that always went off in cold temps and came back on once it warmed up outside so now I need two.

It still needs to be a turrent and 2.8mm. How do the Dahua compare?

Are these powered using PoE? If so, active PoE?

Will you have a chance to bench-test these?
It's fair to say that Hikvision hardware failures are not very common.
It would be interesting to know the cause.

They are Poe powered yes. I think one has a cracked solder joint since it only does not work below 10f.
