Apologies for what might be a 'just google it' question but I've just bought a DS-2CD2347G2-L(U) because my car got vandalised the other night and want to get it up and running asap (it's arriving in a few days time). And that's the long lead time item. Now I'm working out how to power it, either by PoE or by 12V. I'm planning to add a PoE box because I'm going to get a second camera in the future however to get me up and running quickly I wonder if I could just get a power supply and connect wirelessly? I've looked on the specifications for this camera from several sites but can't see it mentioning wifi anywhere. So my guess is it's wired connectivity only but if anyone could confirm that for me I'd be much obliged.

Thanks I'd already seen that page. It doesn't say it can use wifi but it doesn't categorically say it can't either. I was just wondering if someone who owns one could confirm it either way. I'm going to buy the PoE switch anyway. I'll just return it at a later date if needed.

You need to use the RJ45 interface to connect ethernet cabling to an existing NVR (network video recorder) or a PC running suitable software. It won't work via wifi without you adding some more equipment via that RJ45 output port.

Brilliant. Thanks for the definitive answer. I'd already hedged my bets on this being the case, but it's good to know I'm on the right track.
