Hello,

I bought this camera on ebay and I am having a problem with it.
It is not saving any of the settings. I plugged it in, logged in the web portal, set my password, changed a few settings, rebooted the camera and when the web page came back it asked me again to set my initial password again.

I tried to isolate the problem but any setting I change did the same behavior.
I then upgraded the firmware to the latest from the hikvision website; V5.5.61 build 180718 and the firmware upgrade worked fine, but my problem still persists.

The camera still refuses to even save my password.
While it's powered on it's working fine. I can logout and log back in with my password, but as soon as I unplug it or press reboot from the menu it forgets everything.

I bought it last year and only tested it yesterday since I finally got a poe switch.

I have contacted Hikvision for support but they indicated they cannot help as it was not purchased from an authorized distributor.

Does anyone have any tricks or something to make it remember? :)

Thank you

try using Internet Explorer to change your settings...not chrome/edge/firefox...

Yep, I tried that too. IE or Chrome, on two computers.
Also tried clicking the reset defaults in the maintenance menu.
And enabled ssh with the network tool and doing setIp. I lost connectivity but after a reboot it still booted back up with the default 192.168.1.64

did you install the plugin?

on IE yes, the other browsers don't prompt to install one (but they still display a low quality live view)

take the cover of the microSD card. and press the reset button. and put the cover back...a lot of time the cover touch the reset button. and everytime you power off and on the camera, it resets itself.
Wow! That was it. So simple :) Thanks to the both of you for assistance.
