Hello everyone!
I baught 3 pcs of camer DS-2CD2420F-I, and I conclude to store record for a long of last 3 months. So I choose a NAS storage QNAP TS228 with 16 TB capacity 0 RAID.
Configuration 2 disk raid 0; 1 disk pool and 3 thick volume wih win, linux, mac os compatibility;
Create 3 volume for each 2.1 TB for each camera, give access through NFS with maximum permission read and write.

On camera I turn on enable record scheduling , create schedule scheme,. At disk management I fill all necessary info like an IP:folder and type of connections. Press test and save. After that I saw uninitilized NAS disk, check it and press format (create specific files and folders about 271 pcs); Camera perform formating and set status normal on disk. But for last 3 days recording do not start, middle indicator never set to flashing red light; Also I activate hik-connect an can connect to it through cloud without problem;

Some one say to me that camera cannot operate with 2.1 TB storage , and give link where in images I see 1.8Tb, so I redeploy disk for 1.8Tb with new formating procedure and other action that I perform earlier for 2.1T, but camera still not recording :(

I try mode continuos and detect motion (also enable flag for this stuff and scheduler)

Depending on the firmware version there is a limitation on the volume size that the cameras can use on a NAS destination.
To confirm that, try a 200GB volume size to see if that works ok.

Hey. You are trying to have the camera manage the storage. But nas has a video surveillance package that onvif will take the video from your cameras and store it. try this option, it is much easier

Thank you for advice.
Strange do not gave to customer a description about this limitation. because I need at least few month of records to store.
En evening will check firmware and write here.

And how to know which firmware are support mor ethan 200Gb or not support?

As I describe , QNAP has limitation and can save only continous record, and application required additional fee.

Oh I findout that hik connect on this camera added only at 545 firmware so it would be at least in camera, and last is 5481 (between this 2 firmware there are no others ), and nor first nor second do not say anything about limitation with NAS folder
