DS-2CD5085G0 vs. DS-2CD4085F-AP

Hello,

I found the following video in an old thread here. The camera is a Hikvision DS-2CD4085F-AP.



It looks like this camera is no longer available. I found a new model (DS-2CD5085G0) that has an improved frame rate of 30fps at 3840 × 2160. However the image sensor is slightly smaller (1/1.8") than the camera in the above video (1/1.7").

I was wondering if anyone knows how the quality on the newer camera compares to the old one? I haven't been able to find any sample videos online for the DS-2CD5085G0. I'm looking for a camera with excellent colors and no distortion at night. It needs to be a box camera with CS mount. (It is for a telescope.)

Hi Bob

Have a look at this model
DS-2CD4C36FWD-AP its a 3mp camera however the lux is a lot lower than the 8mp version.
