Hikvision DS-2DF9C453LXG-LW 4 MP 53 × Network PTZ Camera belongs to the DarkFighterX camera family. With the
patented dual-sensor design, it is able to process color and brightness independently and outputs one FULL-COLOR image.
This series of cameras can be widely used for wide ranges of high-definition, such as the river, forest, road, railway, airport,
port, square, park, scenic spot, station and large venue, etc.
  1. Dual-sensor, 1/1.2" progressive scan CMOS
  2. Full-color image output
  3. Up to 2560 × 1440 resolution
  4. Min. illumination: Color: 0.0005 Lux @(F1.6, AGC ON) B/W: 0.0001 Lux @(F1.6, AGC ON); 0 Lux with light
  5. 53 × optical zoom, 16 × digital zoom

  10. Up to 800 m laser distance. Smart supplement light
  11. Rain-sensing auto wiper

So, I ended up getting the DS-2DF9C453LXG-LW 4MP PTZ. I will be sharing some pics and videos in the coming days. So far, the shake is at an acceptable level, not anything crazy like what I experienced with the 8C series.

My first impression is that it looks like a very strong contender; the build quality seems what I would expect from a camera of this price range.

One thing I will say: the mounting system is one of the best I have seen so far in a PTZ. It has a hook which the camera just sits on to make the connection easy, and then you just snap the camera into place. While that snap holds the camera pretty good, then it has the normal bolts to tighten, and you can easily hang this camera as a single person. Versus all the other PTZs, I almost always had to have friends help, so I will give it that - the mounting system is great on this.

The laser is freaking amazing, and the software is nice at auto; it controls the laser pretty well. I am going to be running a quick auto setting just to see night performance.

I have not dialed in settings, so it's just running auto for night and a single-line rule for tracking.

Maybe in the coming days, I will try to mess with it a bit more.

And oh boy, the laser on this is massive in terms of size.

The only pain was I had to run a separate wire for this as this takes 36v to run. So, I was a bit bummed there's no POE, but I guess that long 800m laser requires that power.

Here is a spec sheet: [

Here is another video of Auto Track still on the 9 Series; we can only have a maximum of 4 rules. The reason this seems low to me is because it appears that the Line Draw feature can only be a single line, so no zigzag patterns like those available with Dahua...

Its not white light its IR. The auto setting which controls IR is good it automatically adjust the laser pretty darn nice in the auto setting.

my Other Laser cam the laser has to be manually set It does not do well in auto.

The laser IR is on another level.
I have an older 6 series Dahau PTZ with it. Unfortunately I dont get to use it other than playing as I'm able to keep that cam in color 24/7. Looks like you might too as you have a shit ton of light at night on that street

You mention it has dual sensors, but the Hikvision website doesn't have that verbiage. So is it really dual sensors or not?

Also, did you purchase this through Andy? If so, can you DM me the price?

Yea I have one of Dahua PTZ with Laser I have to make the laser go on manual mode at night smart IR on it does not control the laser much... I wish Dahua can just push out a firmware to that because all the hardware is there and is great its just the software side which lacks on that cam otherwise that cam is solid.

On the link Bigredfish posted for the spec sheet it does have it on the first page about the Dual Sensor Setup.

Yes, you're right the datasheet does say that, but the front page does not. Interesting...

It seems like your sample focuses well. I bought DS-2DF8C835MHS-DELW and I have constant issues with focus while auto-tracking that I've had to relegate it to a stationary cam. Worst of all, it still has focus issues even when just being still. Wondering if I just had a bad sample. Unfortunately Hikvision says it's due to my location and how it's mounted. Funny thing is right next to it is the Dahua equivalent, and it has no focus issues while auto-tracking

Interesting, I had an 8C version of the camera which had a lot of internal shaking. In terms of tracking So far, I still feel that Dahua has a more reliable auto-tracking system compared to Hikvision. Although Hikvision's 9C auto-tracking is impressive when it works, there are instances where it fails to start tracking or drops the tracking prematurely. The IR Laser auto control, however, is quite impressive on the Hikvision model. If you used this as fix cam for long version its nice!

I'm skeptical about whether Hikvision will improve this with a firmware update, especially since it still uses a single-line rule for tracking instead of allowing for more complex patterns like Dahua uses zig-zag lines. Moreover, it's limited to only 4 rules if you use the single-line option, which seems quite restrictive maybe part of the tracking issue is this.

I hope Dahua releases something similar in terms of hardware; if they do, I would happily purchase a Dahua camera. But for now, this camera meets my needs adequately. It still has some shake, but it's not as bad as what I experienced with my 8C series.

Interesting as well. I have found Hikvision PTZs to be hit or miss on detection of objects as well. I think that Dahua has a better tracking system, but unfortunately they do not have a laser PTZ as far as I know.

I have a Dahua Laser PTZ Model # SD6AL433XA-HNR, and I believe @bigredfish does too.

My only issue with this camera is that the firmware controlling the laser on the SMART IR setting does NOT seem to engage it at all. Essentially, while the hardware is fully functional, the Smart IR feature isn't utilizing the laser. The only way to make the laser work effectively is by manually adjusting the settings. But than there is only so much that you can do.

Thanks to @Wittaj, I now have a manual HTTP method to activate custom laser settings for this camera which I can call it upon presets but again it be nice if Smart-IR could utilize it during auto tracking and stuff..

The hope is there is one with a 1/1.2" sensor. But Dahua stopped using 1/1.2" in their PTZ line unfortunately.
I want Dahua to bring back the 4/3 Sensor :)

I suspect Dahua is going to discontinue the use of the Starvis sensors over time. I'd think Starvis 2 sensors would be better performing that Omnivision but that is just a guess. I was going to reach out to @EMPIRETECANDY to see if he can get the price on the Hikvision DF9 in 4MP and 8MP, but I suspect the price has just gone up 10% more due to tariffs. Maybe more by the time he gets back from Lunar New Year...
