DS 7600 can't assign cameras to NVR Ports

just purchased the DS 7608NI-E2/8P NVR with 4 Hikvision DS-2CD2342WD cameras. I have the cameras running fine in Blue Iris and can see them using the SAPD tool.

My problem is I can't assign the cameras to 8 available slots when I click "OK' I get error "No more cameras allowed"

When I try to DELETE any existing camera configuration I get error message, "Camera does not exist" and the slot can not be removed. But I can see the cameras listed below the 8 slots

Any suggestions appreciated.

This implies that the cameras are on the LAN, ie not connected to the NVR PoE ports.
Correct? Your screenshot suggests that based on the IP addresses.
And that the NVR LAN interface is also connected to the LAN.

With an 8-channel NVR with 8 PoE ports, all 8 channels are initially assigned to the PoE ports.
As you have found, you therefore cannot Add or Delete any of those channels.
The way to assign one or more of those channels to connect to a LAN-connected camera is to select the channel and use 'Modify' to change the IP address (the usual default is 192.168.254.x as per your screenshot) to the LAN IP address of the camera.
It may be easiest to do this via the web GUI.

Yes the NVR is connected through an Asus router via a Netgear POE switch I have tried changing the IP of the camera to reflect the ip shown in the 1st slot but I only get the reply "Attention The network is unreachable".

No - you don't need to change the IP address of the camera, it has a valid LAN address.
You need to select an NVR PoE channel, and with it in Manual mode (not Plug&Play) use Modify (I'm talking NVR web GUI terminology here) to change the IP address to match that of the camera you want to add.

Yeah this is what I have been doing changing it in manual mode but I still get the same error "Attention The network is unreachable"
If you notice in the 1st picture that I posted the cameras were listed below slot 8 but now they are not shown at all.

You have a 7608N-E2/8P which is wired to an Asus router. To a switch port?
The cameras and the NVR can all be seen by SADP, and they show IP addresses in the same network segment.
The cameras are showing as 'Active' in SADP.
What is the IP address of the 7608 NVR LAN interface?
None of the 2342 cameras are connected to the 7608 NVR PoE ports. Is anything connected to any of the NVR PoE ports?

And in 005 you can see the problem - the NVR is using an IP address of 192.0.0.64 that does not match the LAN, which is presumably 192.168.1.x, and so won't match the cameras on the LAN.

So with SADP and the known admin password you can conveniently set the NVR IP address to one of your choosing that matches the LAN, say for example 192.168.1.200
I'm assuming that will be outside the DHCP address 'pool' that your router uses, but you should probably check that, vua the router web GUI, configuration pages.

Ok I think I screwed up I thought I would switch it to something closer to what the cameras were on and chose 192.168.1.50 and now I cant see the NVR anywhere and yes I need to learn to read.

So I have tried all three of the restores on the system maintenance page but still can't find the NVR on the SAPD tool.

This network thing is not for me.

So a suggestion to try:

In Maintenance, System Info - check the IPv4 address for the LAN and PoE interfaces.
What are the values shown?
If the value is incorrect you can change it under the Configuration | Network menu.

I'm wondering if because SADP no longer shows the NVR the choice of 192.168.1.50 for the IP address clashes with something else on your LAN.
You might get some useful info looking at the Log Information in the System maintenance menu.

Sorry, I don't follow.
Is the HDMI/VGA interface working normally, and can you access the Configuration | Network menu, and the System Maintenance menu?
You will see all the network info there, and can fix any incorrect values.

Thanks for all the help I have it sorted all 4 cams are visible now although I now have an issue with the cameras randomly changing their exposure setting. The cams will sit with the correct exposure for a minute or two then hunt for the correct exposure and keep doing it all day long?

That's a good result, and well done for getting there, and learning some things along the way.
Now make a backup copy of the NVR configuration (Maintenance menu) so you have point in time for recovery.

On the cameras flashing - I have a recollection that early firmware on the 2342WD had some problems with 'blinking' that was fixed with updated versions.
There should be some searchable posts on here about that topic which should allow you to check your firmware versions for a match.
Be very cautious though about Hikvision camera firmware updates - check your original product description to determine if they are 'upgradeable' or if they are running 'hacked firmware' to change Chinese region cameras into English.

Thanks I definitely learnt a lot from the experience and couldn't have done it without your help.

As for the firmware update from what I have read the firmware that I'm on is the most stable. Funny most of the cameras have settled down but one of them is still going silly on the exposure.
