In short the NVR is in a location where its connected to a mounted flat screen and out of view from the eye. Controlling the NVR with the client software on a computer is all fine and and what not but you don't get the full function on the website of it. So anyone have an idea for extending the mouse to another part of the room where the computer desk. The thought of running cat 5 since its already there to a usb wall plate sounds like it will work in theory but I have no experience moving a mouse that far away from its main location.

Fender? idears thoughts suggestions. Im gathering to wireless will not work with a NVR for the simple fact it doesn't except drivers.

yeah I have a 15' usb extension cable terminating in a wireless dongle.. the extension cable just goes through the basement til it gets close enough to the living room couch that the wireless works.

any standard usb wireless mouse that comes with its own adapter should work, I kinda splurged and got a trackball because its easier to use it w/PTZ on couch.

something like these two, I already had the usb extension cable laying around from another project it ended up being too short for.

my NVR was in bottom of a media rack in the basement, i just had to run the cable up into the floor joists then over to under the couch.. i tried it first w/out the extension and go no response.

And it didn't have any issue recognizing the wireless adaptor for the mouse?
