I recently bought an HIKvision DS-7608NI-Q2/8P NVR to replace my Swann NVR8-7200.
The Swann SWNHD-820 cameras came over fine, as did a couple of DS-2CD2023I cameras I had bought.
What's not working is a new DS-2CD2042WDI 4mm camera that I bought It was made in 08/2018, S/N C41332085, and firmware V5.5.5_180111.
What surprises me is that the 2042 is not listed in the HIK-compatible camera list in the NVR's 7608 manual. The 2032 is listed, and my 2032's are working.
Is this 2042 camera not compatible with my recorder? It's such a generic camera and recorder, I figured there would be no problem.
I've tried resetting to defaults, activating it with a password, and it just won't add.
Am I SOL for this camera?
