Is there another way to flash the firmware than the TFTP Program?

I have used the TFTP program and closed the program once the NVR was restarting.
After the restart I don't find my NVR anymore with the SADPTOOL and also checking my router the NVR doesn't have an IP address.

I hope I can get this one back to life, has somebody any idea how I can do this?

It may have been the wrong version of firmware for your NVR.
What was the exact version of firmware that you updated the NVR with?
Do you know what region your NVR is, what the serial number is, and what the manufacturing date is?
Knowing this would help the selection of the correct firmware to update it again and bring it back to normal.
To check that there is still normal bootup activity, change your PC IP address to 192.0.0.128, as you did for the tftp update. At a command prompt use 'ping -t 192.0.0.64'.
Power cycle the NVR and watch for ping responses.
2 or 3 a few seconds after power-on is normal.
If it repeats after a few 10s of seconds, the NVR is in a boot loop due to incorrect firmware.

exact firmware V3.0.10 build141126
Region : China
Serial : DS-7816N-E2/8P1620141020AAEE484421331WMCVU
Manufactering Date : I don't have, I bought in March 2015
Here the result of the ping test, I started the ping test and once I started the NVR I get the request time out.
you can see this in the picture. What could you advice me?

Do you mind if I butt in alastair?
@Sylvain, just want to go over the basics ,do you have your IP address set to 192.0.0.128 ?

Also use the TFTP from here and put your digicap file in the folder to replace the one there.

No, of course not. It's often good to have different perspectives and ideas and suggestions on a problem.
@Sylvain In your screenshot the PC IP address was incorrect.
Have you repeated the 'ping -t 192.0.0.64' test when the IP address was set to 192.0.0.128, what was the result?
When you are trying the tftp update process, with the Hikvision-specific tftp server, the status in the Window says something like 'server at 192.0.0.128 initiallised, correct?
And what other entries if any showed after you power-cycle the NVR?

Some more questions, which we've seen may have a bearing on success:
Is the PC directly connected to the switch or router, as opposed to being on WiFi, and is the NVR also connected to the switch or router?
Are you using Windows 10 on the PC?

I didn't mention this result :-ç. I get conitnuous the host not reachable.

Pc directly in connection to the NVR with a network cable.
Wifi is disabled.
I'm using Windows 10

Pc directly in connection to the NVR with a network cable.
That can be a troublesome method - best to leave both connected to the switch or router.
It may be worth repeating the test when the PC and NVR are both wired to the switch or router, not wired directly.
I'm using Windows 10
This apparently can cause problems too.
Did you get a Windows Firewall popup when you first started tftpserve.exe?
This will set the firewall rules, depending on your response.

One other suggestion to try, to see if the NVR is still active on bootup:
Set the PC IP address to 192.168.1.128 then use 'ping -t 192.168.1.64'

I have done the test with the router in between and same result I have no response when I do a ping test. I didn't get any pop-up. 1st time when I did run TFTP there was a connection and situation on pc should be the same, also keep in mind that when I'm logged in on my router I don't see the NVR having an ip-address assigned by the dhcp.

What happens on the port lights of the router when you power on the NVR?
Normal would be link light goes on (usually green) after a second or so, activity light (usually orange) flashes a couple of times, link light goes off after 2 or 3 seconds, then comes back on and stays on, with occasional flashes from the activity light.

Hi Alastairs
This was a good question just have take a look, it's just dead nothing is burning or flashes.

I have still 1 camera installed on the NVR and this camera gets power and also this ethernet port flashes and it's burning.

it's just dead nothing is burning or flashes.
If the link light shows nothing, then no recovery over the network is going to be possible, no pings, no tftp, no SADP, no telnet etc.
I'm assuming you have tried a different Ethernet cable. We know you've re-plugged it.
Very strange that all this started after a firmware update.
Something has gone badly wrong if the bootloader isn't running. That's a permanent part of the flash memory that handles the tftp updates amongst other things.
It's not changed by firmware updates - in my experience and to my knowledge.

I have to say, it does not look very hopeful for recovery with no network activity.
How do you feel about gathering the bits for the serial console access?

The serial console does not depend on the network interface being in a working state - it could be faulty or damaged, or not enabled.
Although it does sound as if the NVR has failed.
Checking for activity using the serial console is not difficult.
Requirements are a USB to TTL serial convertor such as this - very large numbers on eBay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-To-RS...For-Arduino-/400540616526?hash=item5d4214c74e
And also a connector to plug into the serial port on the main board of the NVR, such as this: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Micr...h-wire-and-Male-PCB-connector/1664241613.html

Hello alastair,

Would you kindly point me to where I could find 7816N-E2_308_ML ?

Many thanks in advance!
