If someone wanted to is it possible to have dual recording with;
-2 NVR's.
-NVR & Blue Iris.
Say for sake of double back up or even another location ie offsite.
Would there be anything special to factor in or deal with.

Additionally how does one tell if compatibility of IP camera(s) with NVR will work ie Dahua IP camera with Hikvision NVR or visa versa?

Thanks.

Always best to stick with the same brands of cams and NVRs for best functionality.

Yes you can do dual recordings for backup.
Internet upload speeds would factor in for offsite.

Thanks.
I meant to also ask;

NVR PoE & Network switch PoE:
Is it possible to have cameras spread across both & to have NVR record all of them?

Lets say I have 10 cameras & I want them all powered by PoE only.
I currently have a 16 port network switch but only first 8 ports provide power. So if I get an NVR 4 PoE, could I;
-plug the extra 2 cameras into NVR but record all 10 cameras on NVR?
&/or
-Record all with Blue Iris?

I realise I could get a bigger network switch, but I'm debating options & I like the idea of NVR & dual recording.

Yes, as long as the NVR has the amount of channels available.
No matter what, an 8 ch NVR will only handle 8 cams no matter how they are connected.
