Editing configuration file

Editing camera inputs on the 1100KI's is a nightmare; it reminds me of programming pseudo-numbers on the old 6800 matrixes but worse because you have to deal with latency. Each camera needs to be programmed one at a time and can not duplicate...essentially this means if you want to edit cameras 1-100, you go to each one, start them at 1001, then edit each one again back in the order you want. It would be nice to be able to edit the config file so that I can change the numbers I want then re-import it.

Hikvision says there is no way to edit the config file outside of the machine but I don't buy it. I'm very new to reverse engineering so I started with a hex editor. All I see there is a ton of <UDs< repeated over and over again. I can't see anything identifiable or any plain text strings in the entire file that would lead me down the right road. Anyone have any ideas?

Have you had a look at Hikvision Tools - there's a batch configuration part I think that might be what you want
