Emailing through Outlook.com problems

I had been using successfully outlook.com to email from one camera to my email. (This is just the free outlook.com not O365)
I have not used this for some time but it worked great. I went to use it and it failed with the following message.

Error with user authentication; server says 535 5.7.137 Authentication unsuccessful, basic authentication is disabled. [YT4PRO1CA110.CANPRD01.PROD.OUTLOOK.COM etc etc etc]


I did some reading and it looks to me that Outlook like Google wants you to have a separate app password set up. So I did this. I believe i did this correctly.
I followed some instructions which seemed to allow me to set up an app password in my Outlook.com account. So I now have used this new OL app password and continue using the same settings as before eg port 587 with my email address. Now I get a different error message, see below.

I believe the version of BI i have is 4. IS my problem that my version of BI does not support the proper authentication version that OL wants?

Or is there something else that is wrong and can I fix it?

Can someone provide any answers on this?

BTW I have set it up on Gmail fine. But for a number of reasons i wanted to use outlook for some cameras as well. So Gmail works fine but not outlook to do a relay of email.

MY short answer is that you will not be able to get BI 4 working with Outlook/Hotmail, a number of people have used some other email providers that still support the less secure protocols, I am not sure if any of them are FREE!
Perhaps someone else might have some ideas that I am not aware of!
